Hiya Lorraine!
Thanks for stopping by planDisney. I love that you have the opportunity to plan spontaneous vacations. Keep whatever situation you have for as long as possible!
Your question depends on what type of accommodation you are searching for. If you are a
Disney Vacation Club member, let me walk you through the easiest way to search for a spontaneous vacay without specific dates:
• Log into
the site• Hover over Plan Vacation
• Click on
Last Minute GetawaysAnd boom! You will have a list of Resort availability for all of the Disney Vacation Club Resorts for the next 60 days!
If you aren't a Member, and want to see what Disney World has to offer, click
here to start planning your vacation. Scroll down to the bottom of the page until you see Explore Places to Stay, and click on that
link. You will then have a link to all of the Disney Resort Hotels. Unfortunately, from that point, you do need to enter a date, but what I find easiest in your situation is to put in a set of dates and then see which Resorts pop up. I was recently planning a couple of weekends at the 'World, and that worked really well. I ended up playing around with a few of my arrival dates and booked all my desired Resorts.
If you want "insider" recommendations about when to visit the Beach Resorts, I suggest
Vero Beach and
Hilton Head from Easter through the early Fall. Both Resorts sit on the Atlantic, so you want to take advantage of the warmer summer water. I love visiting
Aulani in the winter. We recently returned from the perfect Christmas holidays there. Hawai'i is pixie-dusted, and the weather is practically perfect in every way almost every day, so I like to take advantage of that during the colder months.
If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to come back. I wish you great adventures!
Rayna
