Are able to book rooms for family as a dvc owner

Hey There, Hi There, Ho There, Justin!

You are as welcome as can be here at planDisney.  I love chatting with my fellow Disney Vacation Club "neighbors."

It's wonderful that you would like to share the magic of Membership with your family, Justin. My parents gifted my husband and me a vacation at Disney's Vero Beach Resort and Disney's Old Key West for our honeymoon.  We immediately saw the benefits of affordable family vacations year after year and became Members the next year.  Now, 22 years later, we have been able to make our vacation dreams come true with the flexibility and value of Disney Vacation Club Membership.

Justin, you most certainly can book Disney Vacation Club rooms using your available Vacation Points for your family.  Here's how you do that:

    1. Visit the Disney Vacation Club website and log in to your account (top right corner where it says MY DVC.)

    2. Next, click on "My Dashboard" from the drop-down menu under My DVC.

    3. Scroll down to where it says "Plan A Vacation" and search for availability. You can filter by destination or Resort.

    4. Once you have found your dream Resort and its availability, you can begin to make the booking.

    5. Follow the steps until you get to the Guest Name(s) section.  Here is where you will enter your family members' names and information as Guests, including their address and contact information.

Now, Justin, there are a few things to note.  As a reminder, you can book your Home Resort beginning 11 months from the check-in date and all other DVC Resorts beginning seven months from your check-in date.

Once you complete the registration for your family members, the reservation is theirs.  Your Vacation Points will cover the cost of their room, and once they check-in, they will be asked to put a credit card on the room for incidentals.

If there are changes to the reservation or you need to contact Member Services, you - the Member - would need to do that.  Otherwise, once the room is booked, you can share the reservation number with your family, and they can link it to their My Disney Experience for Walt Disney World or their Disneyland account if they are planning to visit there. If they are visiting one of the spectacular Disney Vacation Club beach destinations, they will just have their reservation information for their stay.

I hope this helps you, Justin!  If you have any further Disney Vacation Club questions, don't be a stranger. Come knock on my door, because remember, you've got a friend in me.

    Magically Yours,
    Keri
