We will be at Saratoga Springs for New Year’s eve. We e don’t have park tickets, so we are looking for kid friendly ways to ring in the new year, especially if they happen earlier than midnight. Do any of the resorts have special events for kids? Thanks!

Hi there, Christine! Welcome to planDisney and Welcome Home to a fellow Disney Vacation Club Member! I'm so glad you decided to be our guest, and I'm delighted to hear that you'll be ringing in the New Year at Walt Disney World Resort. 2025 is sure to be off to a great start with such a magical beginning!

I just enjoyed a stay at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa with some of my planDisney pals, and it is such a lovely spot. It's a big property with the relaxed and elegant vibes of a Victorian retreat in upstate New York - we really loved it! The location is also terrific, as you can take the pedestrian bridge to Disney Springs to enjoy the shopping, dining, and entertainment options there.

There are all sorts of fun things to do on New Year's Eve beyond the parks, from miniature golf to a fun dinner at a kid-friendly spot at the Springs like T-Rex (my girls' #1 when they were younger!) or Rainforest Cafe. The Disney Resort Hotels typically offer some fun activities throughout the day on December 31, courtesy of the amazing Recreation Cast Members who bring magic wherever they go!

Christine, last year's festivities at Saratoga included poolside games and tie-dyeing during the day. Starting in the evening, the resort was hopping with the "100 Years Bash," which featured themed hours, a DJ, games, and crafts (keep in mind that some activities do carry a fee - these are usually clearly marked on the flyers posted by the Recreation staff). The most up-to-date information will be available at the resort when you arrive. I recommend checking at Community Hall, which is a main hub for activities and games!

I hope this information is helpful for your planning purposes, and that you have the best time welcoming the New Year with your family! Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney, and please come and see us again anytime if we can help with other questions to add a little pixie dust to your travels.

    Stay Magical!
