when can i borrow points from the following year ? and is there a limit on the amount i can borrow?

Welcome Home, Patrick! I'm so happy to welcome you to planDisney - it's always a great day when I get to chat about all things Disney Vacation Club with a fellow Member. You've got a friend in me, and I'm here to help with your question about borrowing Vacation Points to make your next Disney dream vacation a reality. Let's get down to business!

I'll let you in on a secret, Patrick - I am constantly borrowing Vacation Points! I think it's probably a sign I should purchase some more, right? Borrowing and banking are both great ways to expand your vacation horizons. Being able to combine points from different Use Years can make it possible to book a longer vacation or a larger Villa if you're traveling with a big group. It's one of the many ways that DVC Membership is flexible, based on your individual needs and preferences.

You can borrow up to 100% of your unused Vacation Points from your next Use Year. However, when you can borrow depends on your Use Year. For instance, I have a June Use Year, so if I tried to book a vacation for June 1, 2025 - May 31, 2026, and did not have enough Vacation Points available in my 2025 Use Year (meaning the annual allotment that I will receive on June 1, 2025), I could borrow from my 2026 Use Year as it is the year immediately following the one in which the reservation falls.

If you are booking a reservation online, the option to borrow will appear for you if you are eligible to use points from your next Use Year. You can also contact Member Services when making your reservation, as they can pull up all of the details of your Membership and answer any specific questions that you might have. They often have some great suggestions about accommodations, too!

Patrick, I hope this information is helpful for your planning purposes! Thanks so much for visiting planDisney, and please come see us again anytime if we can assist with any other questions to maximize the magic of your Disney Vacation Club Membership.

    Stay Magical!
