Hi there, Jose Ivan!
Thank you for stopping by planDisney. I am glad you sent your question to us! My family sailed on a Halloween on the High Seas cruise last year, and we had a great time. Your son is going to love it!
I understand how important it is for your son to connect with other Spanish speakers on vacation. The Crew Members who work for
Disney Cruise Line often come from all over the world in my experience, and there were many Crew Members on my previous cruises who spoke Spanish.
Disney's Oceaneer Club is a super fun youth club for kids between 3 and 10 years old, and some of the Youth Counselors who work there usually speak Spanish. I suggest visiting Disney's Oceaneer Club during the Open House on the first day of your voyage to let the Youth Counselors know your son speaks Spanish. They may be able to introduce our son to the Youth Counselors who speak Spanish so your son knows who he can communicate with. Since grown-ups are not allowed in Disney's Oceaneer Club outside of Open House hours, this is also an opportunity to show him around the youth club and find activities he may enjoy when you are not with him. You can find the Open House schedule after boarding the ship on the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app, which you should be able to download to your phone after arriving in the United States.
I am hopeful that your son will find other Spanish-speaking friends during your cruise, whether it is in Disney's Oceaneer Club, on the pool deck, or when standing in line for ice cream. Kids are so friendly and often find ways to connect with other children their age, even when they don't speak the same language!
Did you know you can also request a Spanish-speaking server for your evening
rotational dining meals? Disney Cruise Line offers rotational dining for dinner, where Guests change restaurants on select nights and your serving team comes with you. I love getting to know our servers during our cruises! Just contact your travel agent (or whoever booked your cruise for you), and ask them to add the Spanish-speaking request to your reservation. You can also speak with the head server onboard the ship to request a Spanish-speaking server, although you may have more luck if you ask ahead of time. Requests are not guaranteed but Disney Cruise Line does their best to accommodate their Guests!
Jose Ivan, thank you again for contacting planDisney! We hope to see you real soon!
Happy sailing!
Jen
