Ahoy there Marilyn and welcome to planDisney!
As a seasoned sailor who's lived and worked on the waves for almost a decade, some of my earliest cruise experiences include
sailing along the coast of Alaska to enjoy some of the greatest summertime sights from the decks of the
Disney Wonder along the Inside Passage. It looks like you're embarking on a
5-Night Alaskan Cruise from Vancouver and while we can never really know for certain what activities or events will happen for sure until you access your
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App as you board, I am happy to lend some insights on what you can usually expect on a similar itinerary at the same time last year:
- Longer itineraries of 7 Nights or longer may have more opportunities for themed evenings, but for this voyage most of the suggested attire is Cruise Casual. You may spot an Optional Dress Up evening that will either coincide with The Golden Mickeys as you walk the red carpet leading to the Walt Disney Theatre or the evening when Disney Dreams – An Enchanted Classic is featured.
- As for spa services offered to younger sailors, the Disney Cruise Line Cast Member I spoke with advised that though they were unable to see anything currently available to book for guests who are under the age of 13, it may be a good idea to visit the Senses Spa & Salon on embarkation day to speak with the Crew Members directly as policies and offerings may be subject to the discretion of their leadership team on board.
One of the greatest things I love about cruising to
Ketchikan in July, is that it's the peak time to spot salmon leaping and climbing up the salmon ladder - once we spotted hundreds making their way up the falls at Ketchikan Creek, just a short distance away along the picturesque Creek Street. I hope that this was helpful Marilyn, and be sure to come back to planDisney again soon for any other tips, tricks or advice to help you prepare for your upcoming voyage!
Wishing you all the whales and wildlife to spot as you set sail this summer!
