Happy New Year, Kevin, and welcome to planDisney! You’ve come to the right place for all things runDisney.
I’m sure you’re already gearing up for the
Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend—it’s my favorite runDisney event of the year! The energy from participants and spectators is simply unmatched. I’ve already started packing my running costumes, and I’m throwing in some warm layers for the chilly forecast this year.
To answer your
question, the Walt Disney World
Swan and
Dolphin Resorts provide complimentary transportation to and from all race weekend events, including the races and the
runDisney Health & Fitness Expo. This is a fantastic perk that makes it easier for runners like us to focus on the miles ahead!
Here are some tips to help you make the most of your race morning:1. Know Your Bus Location: Confirm the exact pick-up spot at your resort and plan to arrive early. The resort lobbies typically have signs with bus times and locations, so be sure to check ahead of time.
2. Catch an Early Bus: runDisney buses for the 10K start as early as 3 AM, and I highly recommend getting on one of the first departures. This gives you plenty of time to relax, soak in the pre-race atmosphere, and reach your starting corral without stress.
3. Prepare for Wake-Up Calls: With such an early start, setting multiple alarms is a must. (Trust me, I've learned the hard way!)
4. Get Ready the Night Before: Lay out your clothes, race bib, shoes, and accessories the evening before. Having everything ready makes for a smoother, stress-free morning.
5. Fuel Up Smartly: Have a small, easily digestible snack ready to go when you head out the door, and prioritize good sleep in the days leading up to the race.
Kevin, it sounds like you’re already off to a great start! Get ready, get set, and go bananas on that 10K—you’ve got this! I hope to see you out on the course and don’t forget to soak up the magic along the way.
Wishing you a race filled with pixie dust and PRs!
Warmly,
Eean
