About Me

I’m a former elementary school teacher, turned stay-at-home mom of three busy teenage boys, living in the Steel City of Pittsburgh, where everyone bleeds black and yellow! Although I vacationed in Orlando a couple of times as a child, the trip that turned me into a Walt Disney World fan was in 1999 when my husband and I honeymooned at Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter Resort. Planning a trip sure was different back then- no MagicBands, Advanced Dining Reservations, or Genie+ selections to make! After that, we were hooked, and now we both love planning Disney trips for ourselves, family members, or friends. Our motto is “Work hard, play harder.” We take our vacations seriously, often planning over a year in advance, and our favorite time to travel is during the holidays. Now that our children are getting older, having opportunities to connect and create lasting memories is a priority.

About My Family

Even though I originally hail from New Orleans, my husband grew up on a Pennsylvania dairy farm, which explains why we enjoy ice cream so much! I like to joke that I married into a Disney family, since all our holiday dinner conversations with my in-laws include, “What Walt Disney World Resort we should stay in next?” or “What is the best restaurant in EPCOT?” When I’m not shuttling my kids to piano, golf, or theater practice, I love planning elaborate meals and researching recipes- and my boys love to eat; in fact, our Disney vacations always revolve around eating!

About My Disney Experience

My first trip to Walt Disney World was in 1980 with my parents and grandparents; it's hard to imagine a time before EPCOT existed! I still remember how excited my dad was to ride Pirates of the Caribbean and watch The Hall of Presidents show at Magic Kingdom Park, and those are two of my favorite attractions today. My husband and I have vacationed at Walt Disney World Resort since our honeymoon, and now our kids are teens (and one is in college at Clemson), so they have grown up in the Disney Parks. We became Disney Vacation Club Members several years ago, and our favorite thing to hear when we arrive is, "Welcome Home!"
