Hi Joanne,
Thanks for dropping in at planDisney! I'm happy to help with suggestions for resort accommodations that could fit your family's needs.
The first resort that comes to mind for you is the
Art of Animation, with its family suites that sleep 6. One thing I love about these suites: two full bathrooms! When you've got several people getting ready for a day in the park -- or cleaning up after many fun-filled hours -- two bathrooms is key.
Art of Animation is a Skyliner resort, so transportation to Epcot and Hollywood Studios by Skyliner is quick and easy. And the pools there are second to none.
The suites have a bedroom with a queen-sized bed, a double sofa bed and a fold-down table bed that also is a double. I see you have two teenagers, so you will want to think about whether the bed arrangement works for your six.
One thing we've done when sharing a bed wasn't comfortable is to get two connecting rooms at a value resort like Pop Century. That gets you two bathrooms and four beds instead of three.
Or think about a
cabin at the Fort Wilderness Resort. These new cabins also sleep six and have a bedroom with queen-sized bed, a pull-down bed and bunk beds. There's one bathroom but an extra vanity area makes getting ready easier. The Fort Wilderness cabins give you the feel of camping with the luxuries of glamping.
If none of that works for you, then I'd consider a two-bedroom villa at one of the deluxe resorts. That will give you plenty of sleeping space, bathroom accessibility plus a full kitchen. I'm a fan of all the
deluxe villa resorts, but I particularly like the laid-back feel (and spacious villas) at
Old Key West and the African ambiance of
Animal Kingdom Lodge.
I hope that gives you some idea of the range of accommodations for your family to consider, Joanne. Please let us know if we can answer any other questions for you or share other recommendations.
Enjoy,
Wilma
