Bright suns, Tish! I can think of no better way to launch into 2025 than a trip to
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. I’m glad you sped by planDisney on your way to Batuu with this question about
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.
A
Lightning Lane Single Pass is perfect for jumping through Hyperspace to board the transport for this galactic adventure. When you go to purchase a Single Pass, it shows all current availability. If it is sold out, all times for that day are taken.
Now, like Han Solo, I won’t tell you the odds, but Lightning Lane entry times could open as people modify their plans. I would keep checking, but I would not necessarily wait until 7 a.m. when most people will be buying passes on the
My Disney Experience app. If availability suddenly opens on the app, it will be at an unpredictable time. Stalking the app is your best bet.
If the standby queue is your only hope, I expect the lines will be long with large crowds at
Walt Disney World Resort on New Year's Day. The best times for the shorter waits are typically in the evening when Mickey is battling villains with his magical imagination. Check the app for times
Fantasmic! is showing. I can't guarantee the lines will be short, but this is typically the best time to hop in line for Rise of the Resistance and
Slinky Dog Dash.
Mobile food ordering may also be your best friend. Compiling everyone's food orders makes excellent use of time in line for an attraction. I have my order ready and then complete the purchase after the ride. One of my favorite mobile ordering options is
Kat Saka's Kettle for a Cold Brew Black Caf. Star Wars and coffee are two of my great loves in one cup.
For a busy day at the parks, my grandmother would tell me to pack my patience. Good advice. I also recommend packing some easy snacks, like granola bars and trail mix.
Tish, I hope your day is more fun than racing through the Kessel Run in 12 parsecs. If you have any other questions, come see us again at
planDisney.
May the Force be With You!
