Hiya, Justin! While counting down the days to
Walt Disney Marathon Weekend 2025 and hoping my months of training will get me across the Finish Line for my Goofy medals, I am glad you raced by, already thinking of 2026.
Preparing for runDisney registration requires as much commitment as the events themselves. runDisney has not announced information on Marathon Weekend 2026. Registration is typically the second week in April, so I expect an announcement in March. At that time, we will know the event and registration dates.
Marathon Weekend includes four races and two challenges: a
5K,
10K,
half marathon and
full marathon.
Goofy's Race and a Half Challenge consists of the half and full. The Dopey Challenge is all four events.
Prices for these races tend to increase each year, but I'll share the cost for 2025 to give you an idea of the potential range.
- 5K - $112
- 10K - $155
- Half Marathon - $224
- Marathon - $226
- Goofy Challenge - $442
- Dopey Challenge - $688
Again, these may change for 2026, but hopefully this helps.
There is no list for registration. When the weekend events are announced, you will see when registration opens. It is typically at 10:00 a.m. Eastern. Everyone who logs in before 9:59:59 a.m. will be randomly assigned to the queue. A screen will appear that tells you approximately how long before you reach the front of the queue. Anyone who logs in after this initial random assignment will join the end of the queue.
For places to stay, there are lots of conversations in the social media groups dedicated to runDisney enthusiasts about the best hotel options. I am partial to staying within the
Disney Resorts Collection. runDisney provides transportation to the expo for bib pick-up and the races. With my goal of a 3:00 a.m. departure time, I am quite happy to leave the driving to someone else.
I also like using
Disney Transportation to head to the theme parks for the epic medal photo opportunities. It is also so fun to hear the "Congratulations!" The race courses include some miles in the theme parks, but time in the theme parks during the day does require a ticket, which you purchase separately.
The timing of your question is practically perfect. With the 2025 Marathon Weekend on the horizon, the
event guide is available. If you want to see the 2025 course maps and transportation information and learn more about the events, this resource may give you some insight into the weekend.
If you have any other questions as you prepare for the most magical place to race, please speed back by
planDisney! We're cheering for you!
Every Mile is Magic!
