Hiya Wendy,
Welcome to planDisney! There's a "great big beautiful tomorrow" happening at Walt Disney World Resort, and just like Walt always intended, there is so much change happening as the parks continue to evolve. I, for one, am excited about all the changes, like
Disney Starlight, for example! That said, all of the changes can be challenging to keep track of, so I completely understand wanting to know where to look before your vacation.
Wendy, the best way to find out which attractions will be available during your vacation and which ones will be closed for refurbishment is to check out the
Disney World Rides and Entertainment page. You can sort by theme park, type of ride or experience, and even advisories. When you search for Magic Kingdom, you will see a list of attractions and experiences at the top that is labeled 'Closed for Refurbishment.' Currently, those are
Astro Orbiter,
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and
The Hall of Presidents; however, this list could change in the next few weeks as you get closer to your vacation. We are still awaiting news about when this summer Astro Orbiter will reopen, for instance, so that is one attraction that might be open by the time of your trip. That is why I recommend checking the site closer to your trip to see if anything has been added or changed for mid-July.
I hope this was helpful, Wendy, and helps you prepare for your vacation. Before I let you go, have you heard about
Disney Springs Flavors of Florida? There will be over 90 yummy Florida-inspired treats and dishes celebrating the Sunshine State at Disney Springs beginning next week through August 10th. There will also be special menus, culinary events, and pairing events. It is definitely worth adding to your itinerary this summer! I hope that you have a fantastic vacation; please come back and see us if you need anything else.
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
