Hi Beverly! January is a wonderful time to visit Walt Disney World as the crowds are often smaller and the weather is great. Be sure to bring a sweater for the evenings though! Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will be undergoing a quick refurbishment from January 16-20, 2024. If you check out
the ride page, you will see the days and times it is available. I would make sure to plan you days around visiting Magic Kingdom as soon as you arrive at Walt Disney World Resort before it closes for the week if it is one of your must dos.
During your visit,
Epcot's International Festival of the Arts will be going on. This is one of my absolute favorite events at Disney World. I highly recommend checking it out. There are unique artistic food booths with some of the best food at Epcot, and famous artwork is brought to life in artwork turned into 3D photo backdrops that make for some of my favorite vacation photo ops.
If you want to plan ahead and see what all is scheduled or closed for the time you are there,
here is an interactive tool that allows you to pick your date, the park, and see a detailed schedule or closures and events. I hope you have a wonderful vacation!
