We are returning to Disney and have always had a DAS pass for my daughter. We have heard the DAS pass system is changing. Please advise on what is changing and how we go about requesting it again? Or is it the same as last year Thank you

    Hello Joanne!

Welcome to planDisney!  I'm thrilled you are planning a return trip to Walt Disney World Resort this summer!  There are a lot of exciting things happening around the parks this summer including the scheduled opening of Tiana's Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom Park.  While we don't yet have an opening date, I'm wishing upon a star for you that it opens before your arrival so you and your family can experience this new attraction!

Joanne, as you are aware, Walt Disney World Resort recently made some changes to the Disability Access Service (DAS) which take effect on May 20, 2024.  For our friends from the UK, you will now complete your registration for DAS via a virtual chat once you arrive at the parks instead of in person.  The Cast Members on the virtual chat are trained to determine if DAS is the most appropriate accommodation for your family or if there are other accommodations that may be available to assist in accessing ride and attraction queues.  The maximum party size for DAS is 4 people (including the DAS guest) or your immediate family.  If you have more specific questions regarding your family's needs, you can always call a Cast Member at Disability Services for additional assistance.

While you're visiting this summer, I hope you're planning a visit to one of Disney's two incredible water parks.  Regardless of whether Disney's Typhoon Lagoon or Disney's Blizzard Beach is open during your visit, I'm sure you'll find both to be a great way to relax the day away and cool off from the Florida heat.  While my boys are a bit more adventurous, you can always look for me floating around Cross Country Creek or Castaway Creek!

Joanne, I hope this information is helpful as you prepare for your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World Resort!  Remember you are always welcome to be our guest here at planDisney and we hope you stop by to see us again real soon!

    Cheers,
    Kristi
