we have reservations now. Can I bring my own wheelchair rather than renting one at the parks ?

Happy New Year, Raymond, and welcome to planDisney! I'm sure you're getting your gadgets and gizmos all ready for your upcoming visit to "The Most Magical Place on Earth."

I'm happy to share that you can absolutely bring your own wheelchair to the parks, in fact, I'd encourage it! As a wheelchair user myself, I know the importance and necessity of having the comfort of your own chair. Luckily for us, Disney World is extremely mobility friendly. I'd like to share some tips to make your visit extra magical.

I would encourage you to utilize the complimentary Disney transportation system that is available between the Resorts, parks, and Disney Springs. No matter which transportation you choose, you will easily be able to load your wheelchair onto the vehicle. You can even ride in your chair if you wish!

Before your visit, you'll want to download the My Disney Experience mobile app. Here's how to access the accessibility services on the app:

    • On the Home Screen, select the three bars at the bottom of your screen.
    • Scroll down and select "Accessibility and Health Services.
    • Next, scroll until you reach the section that says, "Guest Services at Walt Disney World Resort," and choose "Services for Guests with Mobility Disabilities."
This screen will serve as your gateway for all your accessibility needs while you're in the parks. My favorite feature is viewing the service and access options for the Walt Disney World attractions. For example, many attractions will enable you to remain in your wheelchair should you choose!

Now, one last tip before I go. Check out the Theme Park Guide Maps for Guests with Disabilities  to familiarize yourself with the layout of the parks. These maps will also show designated wheelchair parade and fireworks viewing areas that you'll be able to utilize.

Thank you so much for visiting us at planDisney, Raymond. I could chat accessibility accommodations all day long, so if you have any other questions, please stop by again soon!

    Magical wishes,

    Kami
