Bright Suns, Linda, and welcome back to planDisney! It’s great to chat with a fellow traveler dedicated to learning the ancient Jedi tradition of lightsaber building. With the First Order in control, it’s even more important that we preserve this knowledge among Resistance sympathizers.
I was also excited to hear that the Gatherers have been working on something brand new for May the 4th. They have to be careful to protect
Savi’s Workshop, so as you noted, there’s no way to know if the
limited time Reclaimed and Reforged parts are available unless you ask in person. If you’re not able to travel to Batuu in the days before your reservation, you likely can’t confirm which parts are in stock before your cancellation window passes (24 hours before the reservation).
However, the Gatherers have been working hard to recover as many Reclaimed and Reforged parts as possible. It turns out Black Spire Outpost is the perfect place to find these treasures with its high concentration of smugglers and bounty hunters! The Gatherers only started making these parts available to guests on May 4th, so I’m hopeful you’ll get to make this special lightsaber when you visit this week. And, as Han Solo says, never tell me the odds!
When you’re on-planet, I’d recommend checking with the Cast Members in front of Savi’s Workshop to see if the parts you seek are still available. If not, they’ll be happy to discuss your options.
