I have a question about rider swap with single lightning lane pass. I have three nephews, one of which will be too short to ride guardians of the galaxy. When my sister and I swap can both of my taller nephews re-ride with the 2nd rider?

Hi Megan, and welcome to planDisney. I go to Disney World a lot with my sister and nephew, so I’d be happy to answer your question!

With Rider Switch, up to two people can ride in the second group. So if you’re watching your shorter nephew, while your sister and the rest of the family go on Guardians of the Galaxy, you can take one person with you when it’s your turn to ride. That means only one nephew will get to ride a second time as part of Rider Switch.

Here are more details on how the process works:

    - Go to Guardians of the Galaxy with your whole group (including the non-rider) and let a Cast Member know you’d like to use Rider Switch.

    - Your group will split into Party 1 (who will ride the attraction first) and Party 2 (who will wait with the non-rider). The Cast Member will scan the ticket or MagicBand of the person in Party 2 to issue the Rider Switch entitlement. If Party 2 is one person, they can choose someone in Party 1 to ride again, so they don’t have to ride alone.

    - Then Party 1 rides the attraction while Party 2 waits with the non-rider. This is a great time to get a snack at Connections Eatery, try all the sodas at Club Cool, or ride Mission: SPACE!

    - When Party 1 is done, they’ll take over waiting with the non-rider while Party 2 goes on the attraction. Party 2 will scan at the Lightning Lane entrance to validate their Rider Switch entitlements.

I hope this helps your family know what to expect with Rider Switch. My friend’s family is often in a similar situation and has their older kids switch off on who gets to ride again (which is admittedly easier if they have different favorite rides).

When you’re in EPCOT, your nephews might like playing DuckTales World Showcase Adventure or checking out the different Kidcot Fun Stops. My nephew is a little too young for the interactive DuckTales quest, but he loves collecting the cards from the Kidcot Fun Stops. It’s a great way to learn about the different countries.

I’m wishing you and your family a magical visit to EPCOT! If you have any other questions, we’d love to have you back at planDisney.
