How can I request an accessible shower room, due to a recent foot injury.

Greetings, Mark, and thanks for stopping by planDisney! You'll be arriving soon for your Walt Disney World Resort holiday, and I'm so sorry to hear you had an un-magical accident. I'm currently on a trip and had a similar problem! I'm typing this with an ice-pack on my ankle, so we are kindred spirits.

Since your visit is coming up quickly, my advice is to call Disney Resort Hotel Reservations as soon as you can. Explain exactly what type of accessibility will work best for your injury, and the Cast Members will do all they can to help. Most resorts offer roll-in showers, for example.

Another option is to look at your reservation online to see if you can modify your stay. If you see the option to make changes, follow the prompts to see different available room types. On your hotel's Room Rates page, tap "View Photos" for each room type. Choose "Image Category" to specify accessible rooms from the dropdown menu; under "Room Selection," you'll see what's offered and can scroll through photos.

I still recommend calling because accessible rooms are usually limited in quantity. I'm sprinkling pixie dust and pain-relievers your way so you'll find the best option!

My final tip is to consider renting a wheelchair or Electronic Conveyance Vehicle (ECV) at any theme park entrance. I don't know how you "do Disney," but I put in thousands of joyous steps each day. Staying off that foot might be a practically perfect solution.

Mark, safe travels from across the pond. And here's hoping we both feel better soon! Please head back to planDisney anytime.

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine
