Hi there, Michele, and welcome to planDisney!
Your visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth will be here in only a few sleeps—get ready to live your best life! Thank you for asking me this question about one of my favorite ways to tap into the magic: the MagicBand. Let’s dive right into everything you need to know about this super handy device.
The MagicBand has an internal battery that lasts for up to 2 years, so it doesn’t come with a charging cable. It doesn’t have an on/off button, so you’re not overlooking anything. By the way, even though it has an expected lifetime of a couple of years, I still use my older-than-5-years, themed MagicBands all the time. This is unlike the newer
MagicBand+ that has light-up interactive displays and haptics and needs to be charged with a charging cable every 1-2 days. You can make sure that your MagicBand is linked to your MyDisney account by checking your “MagicBands & Cards” section in the
My Disney Experience App.There’s so much that you can do with a MagicBand and MagicBand+. If you’re staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel, you can charge purchases around property to your hotel folio and enter your hotel room with it. Also, no matter where you stay, when linked to your MyDisney account’s theme park tickets, you can scan into a theme park and
Lightning Lane entrances within seconds. I love seeing that Mickey-shaped entry point light up!
Michele, I have a gut feeling that you’ve got a pretty magical visit ahead of you.
Feel free to revisit us here at planDisney before, during, and even after your visit. Any one of us will be more than happy to lend a Mickey hand.
Magic always,
LeAndra
