Hi Lori,
Welcome back to planDisney! I'm thrilled to hear you're planning another Walt Disney World Resort adventure! While things are a bit different now under the
phased reopening, the magic is alive and ready for YOU!
I'm happy to let you know that it's not necessary for everyone to have their own smart device to be able to experience
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. Everyone must be listed in My Disney Experience, and you'll only be able to add Guests to your party if they're linked to you via the
Family & Friends list, but it's fine if they don't personally have the My Disney Experience mobile app. While some of my kiddos are old enough to have their own devices, not all of them do. I was able to secure a spot in a boarding group for all of my family members using my personal My Disney Experience account. I hope this puts your mind at ease a bit that you don't need to go purchase new cell phones for everyone to be able to experience an attraction!
The virtual queue does fill up quite quickly, but I recently shared some
tips for scoring a boarding group with another Guest that I hope will be helpful for you, too. Of course, the all-important first step is making sure you have your
Disney Park Pass reservation made for Disney's Hollywood Studios that day. Are you all set with that? If so, may the force be with you as you step into the iconic Star Wars story on
Batuu! You're going to LOVE it!
Thanks so much for visiting us at planDisney again, Lori, and please feel free to keep your great questions coming. I hope you and your crew have a truly magical vacation this
summer!
Missy
