Hello Kimberly!
Welcome to planDisney! This is a great question, and I think other Guests have this question as well. According to the current policy, “hopping” is never guaranteed. It is possible that you could purchase the
Park Hopper Ticket and then, due to capacity issues, be denied entry to the second park. Refunds are not given if the Park Hopper part is not used either by your choice or by hopping being suspended.
So while it is possible and you should be aware of that, the likelihood is very low. When not answering questions for my fellow Guests here on
planDisney, in real life I am a nurse. When my patients ask me if something is possible I will often explain that while something may be a
possibility, that doesn't mean is a
probability. To date, the theme parks at the
Disneyland Resort in California have not closed to park hopping, and the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida only closed to park hopping on a single day, which was the 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World on October 1, 2021. Additionally, the closure to hopping didn't occur until dinner time, so many Guests were still able to hop. I think it is very unlikely you would be prevented from park hopping for your spring visit to the Disneyland Resort.
If you are wanting the Park Hopper option, I would not wait to purchase them. One of the ways the Disneyland Resort prevents having to close to hopping is to
limit the number of Park Hopper Tickets that are sold. If you wait until arrival, it is likely that the Park Hopper will be sold out. I wanted to add it to my tickets for my most recent trip but due to my specific ticket type, I had to wait until arrival. Several weeks before our trip, the Park Hopper Option sold out.
I hope this helps to answer your question, Kimberly. Wishing you a magical visit to the Happiest Place on Earth!
