Hey there, Jorge!
Thanks for stopping by planDisney to bring us your question. We are more than happy to share pixie-dusted tips and tricks for your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort adventure!
Jorge, it sure is possible to use your Apple watch instead of a MagicBand for
almost all the magic during your visit. Once you get your devices synced up with
MagicMobile through the My Disney Experience app, you’ll be able to tap into the parks, link
Disney PhotoPass images, and even check in at
Lightning Lane entrances, all with a quick wrist flick. Pretty cool, right?
Now, while your Apple Watch can get that extra pixie dust with MagicMobile, here are a few pixie-dusted perks you’d be missing without a MagicBand. First, a MagicBand is fully waterproof. Between pool time, potential rain showers, and visits to the
water parks, this is a big plus! The original MagicBand doesn’t rely on battery life, which means no worries about running low on power mid-day. Also, some interactive features, like special effects on select attractions or dazzling surprises at certain touchpoints, are exclusive to MagicBands. And if you love collecting all things Disney, the variety of colors and designs (especially with the newer
MagicBand+) adds an extra layer of fun!
If you’re all about convenience, MagicMobile on your smartwatch is a fantastic way to go. But if you want all the extra pixie dust (and to free up your watch for fitness tracking or checking wait times on My Disney Experience), a MagicBand might be worth it! And why not bring both? For my crew, the mom gets to use her Apple Watch while the kids rock their MagicBands. Best of both worlds!
I hope this helps answer your question. If you have any more questions or need additional planning tips,
you know where to find me! See ya real soon,
Emille
