    I recently upgraded my imagine key to explore key and am trying to make a reservation for a date that is available for my explore but it won’t let me make the reservation until after my imagine key expires what can I do

    I hope you've been enjoying your year of increased access to the magic of the parks! As a Magic Key holder myself, I love the dining discount. We'll be making good use of that discount next week, in fact. Magic Key holders receive great discounts, fun perks, and more! Are you following the official Disneyland Magic Key blog? I find it to be a great resource. There's always something new to explore at the parks, and the blog helps me keep up with what fun extras might be available for me as a Magic Key holder.

    It sounds like you selected your Explore Key during your renewal period. When you upgrade outside your renewal window, your new key has the same expiration date as the old one, and you enjoy the new benefits for the remainder of the year by paying the difference immediately between your old pass and your new pass. Instead, I think you've selected to enjoy a higher level of Magic Key for your next year of magical access. Does that sound right?

    You'll experience the benefits, including the Blockout dates specific to your new Magic Key, once your current Magic Key expires. The details for each pass are unique, so it's important to select the one that's right for your needs. Magic Keys are currently not transferable or refundable, and Terms and Conditions are subject to change. The upgraded Magic Key you selected doesn't cover more than those twelve months, unfortunately. I'm sorry if you thought those benefits kicked in immediately. The good news is you shouldn't have long to wait until you can explore with your shiny new Magic Key.
