Hey Howdy Hey Fred and welcome to planDisney!
I am excited to hear you will be visiting us at the Most Magical Place on Earth real soon! Thank you for your question about
Theme Park Reservations. Let's go over the details and get you ready for your day in the park.
Theme Park Reservations are no longer needed for Guests visiting the parks with date-based tickets. These tickets are usually the ones purchased on the Disney site and typically require a specific start date for the ticket validation period. There are many other theme park ticket options and Annual Passes that require a park reservation. To check to see which one you have, it is really easy to do online.
What you can do, is to go online to the Theme Park Reservation main page and click on the big blue button to "Make Theme Park Reservations". Once there, you will be asked to log in using your My Disney Experience login information so the system can check on your theme park tickets. Based on your tickets, the system will either allow you to make reservations or prompt you that reservations are not needed.
If you happen to have a ticket with the Park Hopper Option on it and need a reservation, you should still have a shot to get in the park. You can always make a reservation at a different park, tap into the park, enjoy a ride or two and then head over to Hollywood Studios. There are no restrictions on times to hop so as long as you tap into the park of your reservation, you are free to hop to any park as long as there is availability.
Looking at the
Theme Park Reservation Availability, at this time, it does look like no more reservations are being accepted for Disney's Hollywood Studios for January 2nd or 3rd. If you have a ticket that needs a reservation, you can keep checking back or you can also talk with the Cast Members about availability at the ticket window outside of Hollywood Studios. Plans do change and things may open up so you might still have a shot at getting in.
I wish you the best of luck getting into Hollywood Studios on your upcoming trip. Please let us know if there is anything else we can help with!
To Infinity and Beyond,
Nick
