Hi! It's really hard for me to choose between the AKL club level and Riviera One-Bedroom preferred view. Any suggestions? It's a five-day trip with three adults (First time). AKL club level is $400 cheaper. Any suggestions?

    Hiya, Qiyu!

Welcome Home and welcome to planDisney! How exciting that you are planning ahead to decide between two wonderful Disney Resorts.   Our family loves both of these Disney Resorts as both are uniquely themed to transport you to a whole new world. With so many benefits when you stay in the magic, like complimentary theme park transportation, Early Theme Park Entry, and Extended Evening Theme Park Entry, you simply can't go wrong with either Disney's Riviera Resort or Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge Resort.

But, to help you decide Qiyu, here are a few things to think about.  First are the locations of each Resort. Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is nearest to Disney's Animal Kingdom Park, of course.  However, to get there or to any of the theme parks, your complimentary transportation is by bus (or you can take Disney's Minnie Van Service Connected by Lyft for a fee or drive your personal vehicle.) At Riviera, you also can use Disney's complimentary bus transportation but you have the added option of Disney's Skyliner (as well as Disney's Minnie Van Service or your personal vehicle.)  This Resort is closest to EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios.

Next, let's talk about the differences between a Club Level room and a One Bedroom Villa.  The One Bedroom Villas at Disney Vacation Club Resorts come with a living area, a full-sized kitchen, dining area, and in-room washer and dryer.  Typically the One Bedroom Club Level Rooms have a smaller kitchenette area but they do not have in-room washers and dryers.

However, with the Club Level accommodations, you will have a Concierge on your floor daily, from 6:30 a.m. until 10 p.m. each day who can help you with anything you need such as making Advance Dining Reservations, Theme Park Reservations, and more.  Additionally, the Club Level Floors have complimentary coffee, tea, soft drinks and water all day and snacks throughout the day; a light continental-style breakfast daily from 7 a.m. - 10 a.m.; and light appetizers, wine, beer, and champagne from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m., and light desserts served at 8 p.m.  So, while you won't have as much living and kitchen space in a Club Level Room or in-room laundry, you will have complimentary "pickings" of snacks and food items as well as beverages available, plus an on-floor Concierge.  By contrast, a One Bedroom Villa will be more of your home away from home.

I hope these distinctions will help you make the best decision for your vacation, Qiyu!  Both options will be full of magic, but my recommendation is to base this decision on your vacation and amenity needs and where you would like to be located within the Walt Disney World Resort.

If you have any further questions, stop back and see me here, and I'll be so happy to help you!  Have the most magical vacation.

    Happy Planning!
