Justin from CA Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

I had a question on dining on Disney Cruise Line (like Pinocchio's, Duck-In Diner, etc). I am assigned to 8:15 for my cruise in October. I am traveling with a diabetic and am on the wait list for 5:45. If I am not changed, how late are they open?

    Ahoy Justin!

Thanks for sailing back to planDisney with another great question. I'm happy to assist!

Based on your travel date, I'm guessing you'll be sailing on a Halloween on the High Seas itinerary on Disney Magic. I'm excited for you, and also a little jealous, as I have not yet had the chance to experience this ship. We have our eye on a Halloween itinerary for 2024, so fingers crossed that the timing works with our kid's school schedules.

Speaking of kids, our recent sailing on Disney Wish was our family's first time eating during the Second Seating. We gambled a bit with the kid's energy and hunger levels by opting for the later dinner time, but we found it gave us more time to enjoy the ports of call and get ready without rushing before dinner each evening. However, I can certainly understand your concern about your travel partner's medical concerns. While I don't have a set schedule to share for the quick-service locations such as Duck-In Diner or Pinocchio’s Pizzeria you will be able to review the operating hours once aboard in the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App

I also want to remind you about complimentary room service, which is available 24 hours a day until 1:30 a.m. on the final day of your sailing. Even if the counter-service locations on the pool deck are closed, you'll still be able to order an array of food and beverages right to your stateroom. We love ordering the All Hands on Deck cheese platter to enjoy with a glass of wine on our verandah as we set sail on embarkation day. We also always order warm chocolate chip cookies to enjoy on the last night of our cruise. The sweetness takes the sting out of our vacation coming to an end.

If your waitlist request isn't granted prior to your sailing, I'd recommend visiting Guest Services once on board to inquire about last-minute openings. I can't guarantee they will be able to make the change for you, but in my experience, they always go out of their way to sprinkle pixie dust whenever possible. You'll find the Guest Services Desk on Deck 3, Midship on Disney Magic.

Justin, I'm wishing you a most magical time at sea. Please stop back and see us again with any additional questions. Like the cheese platter, we're always all hands on deck here at planDisney, too!

    Bon voyage,
    Amy
