Family dining

I am an adult picky eater and just eat chicken nuggets/tenders, pizza, fries, hot dogs and hamburgers for lunch/dinner. I love the Disney Cruise videos and activities. I am scared to dine at the rotational restaurants because of my picky eater status.

    Hi James,

Thanks for sailing by with this question! I'm more than happy to assist.

While I consider myself to be a pretty adventurous eater, I am well-versed when it comes to those with pickier palettes. My two children prefer a similar diet to yours, and I'll admit I had my own reservations about enjoying our experience at the Rotational Dining restaurants. Thankfully, our servers put us all at ease on the very first dinner we experienced with Disney Cruise Line. They were happy to offer buttered pasta and more of the kid's favorite food selections like chicken fingers and pizza, even if they weren't listed on the regular menu.

I reached out to a Cast Member to see if you could expect the same type of pixie-dusted dinner service as an adult and am happy to share that your serving team will be glad to offer selections not listed on the standard dinner menu. They indicated some basic entrée items like chicken, steak, and salmon but shared that pizza, chicken fingers, and hamburgers should be available in the main dining rooms upon request. I'd encourage you not to skip out on your Rotational Dining assignments, even just to experience the ambiance and entertainment. Animator's Palate is a family favorite dining experience I think you'll enjoy!

While taking in the atmosphere, you'll be able to order as much or as little of the menu as you wish and you may just find some new favorite foods, too. If you'd prefer to stick with your comfort foods be sure to take a look at the dessert menus. If you have a sweet tooth like I do you won't be disappointed! I still dream about the Grand Marnier souffle we enjoyed at Royal Palace on Disney Dream.

You'll also be able to find many of your favorite food items at counter-service locations like Flo’s Cafe on Deck 11 of Disney Dream and Disney FantasyMickey & Friends Festival of Foods on Disney Wish, and Duck-In Diner on Disney Magic. Operating hours vary, so be sure to check the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App for the latest schedules.

While a sit-down breakfast and lunch are typically offered in one of the main dining rooms each day, you can also stop by Cabanas or Marceline Market for a full buffet of delicious selections. Complimentary room service is available 24 hours a day throughout your cruise so you'll be able to order your favorite menu items directly to your stateroom, too. I promise you won't cruise hungry!

James, I hope this puts you at ease. If we can help answer any additional questions please don't hesitate to sail on back and "sea" us again.

    Wishing you a magical sailing,
    Amy
