Welcome to planDisney, Alan!
Oh boy! I’m so glad to see that you and your guys are ready to enjoy some family time together at The Happiest Place On Earth with brand-new Magic Keys! So many of my friends have taken advantage of the
Special Kids’ Ticket Offer so that they can join in on adventures during Valentine’s,
Lunar New Year, and the
Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival this year. So, let's see what we can do to make the most of your Disney Dollars!
Alan,
upgrades on unused tickets can be done on-site before the resort closes for the day. At that time, you’ll have to pay the difference between the Kid’s ticket offer and the
Magic Key tier that you choose immediately because payment plans are not available for upgrades.
But Alan, if you and your crew are not available on the day that Magic Key sales reopen, and you’re afraid that the Key of your dreams will sell out before you’re able to visit the ticket booths in person, here’s an idea: Since Magic Keys are not activated until the first day that you physically visit the theme parks, you can purchase one online, and you’re renewal date won’t begin until you choose to scan it in the parks. That means that since your cast of characters already have specially priced admission tickets, you can still use those by March 10th. Once you’ve used each of your specially priced tickets, you can switch over to the Magic Keys that you purchased using the virtual queue on
January 10th.
I know that option doesn’t necessarily save you any Disney Dollars, Alan, but it’s a smart way to stack those glorious Disney Days!
I hope this helps you plan a magical year of adventure with your family, Alan. If you have any more questions or need further assistance, don't hesitate to
reach out again for a quicker response now that you’ve got a friend in me. I'd love to share more of
my favorite tips for visiting the Disneyland Resort!
See ya real soon!
