Hi there, I have purchased Disney park tickets for my family, how do I share to their individual magic bands, for our vacation. Please. Do they all need to have their own Disney app ?

    Hiya Mandy!

Thank you for visiting planDisney with your question! How exciting that you have a magical summer Disney World vacation coming up. Woo hoo! I'd be happy to help you get your family's MagicBands linked to your theme park tickets. This is a terrific way to experience the parks... allowing you to easily scan in for park entrance, claim any photos taken on rides or by PhotoPass photographers, tap in for any Lightning Lane reservations, and even charge purchases to your account if staying at a Disney resort. I believe they are also called "Disney Bands" in the UK, but be assured we are talking about the same magical, pixie-dusted accessory!

Connecting all of your family's plans, tickets, and assigning MagicBands can by done by linking everything together under your MyDisney account.

To do so, take the following steps in the My Disney Experience app:

    1. Add your Family & Friends - First, add each member of your family in your My Disney Experience "Family & Friends List". From the app home screen, click the "≡" icon in the lower right corner, scroll down to Account and select "Profile", then go to the "Family & Friends" tab. Here you can enter each member of your party by clicking "Add a Guest".

    2. Link the Tickets - Now let's link tickets! Before you can connect the park tickets you purchased to a MagicBand, you will need to link them to your MyDisney account. From the app home screen, click the "≡" icon in the lower right corner, select "My Tickets and Passes", then the "+" in the top right to "Link Tickets & Passes".

    3. Link MagicBands - And at last... now you can link each MagicBand to the corresponding guest who will be using it! From the app home screen, click the "≡" icon in the lower right corner, scroll down to Account and select "MagicBands & Cards". At the bottom it allows you to link your MagicBand, and connect it to a guest from your Family & Friends list.
Once you have everyone's MagicBand connected to their park ticket, they do not need to have their own app. Your family will be ready to go ride all the rides and make some BEST DAY EVER memories!

I hope this helps, Mandy. If you need any additional tips or advice on dining recommendations, park touring ideas, Lightning Lane passes, or more - please visit me again any time at planDisney.

    Wishing you a wonderful visit!
    Tami
