f using magic bands for park entry, do you still have to scan fingerprints? If so, how do you go about doing this as to not waste time the morning of first park day?

Hi there, Keri, and welcome to planDisney!

It sounds like you're preparing for a magical, pixie-dusted, fantastic, and Wonderland-worthy vacation at Walt Disney World Resort! Yay! Like Cogsworth and the White Rabbit, you don't want to waste a second getting into the parks, and I completely understand!

I love the MagicBand+, and I know you will, too. With a quick wrist tap, you can enter the park, tap into your Lightning Lane passes, and so much more! Keri, even with a MagicBand+, you will still need to fingerprint scan each time you enter a park. But don't worry; this process is easy and only takes a few seconds. So let me walk you through the process so you'll scan through like a pro and get to the magic as fast as Lightning McQueen!

    1. When you arrive at the park, scan your MagicBand that holds your theme park ticket.
    2. After you've scanned your band on the Mickey Mouse symbol, the fingerprint scanner will light up.
    3. Next, press one finger on the sensor. It's important to use the same finger every time you enter a park.
    4. Keep your finger on the scanner until it lights up green, and then you'll be free to enter the park.

Keri, as your new Disney friend and planDisney panelist, I'd like to share another tip to help expedite your park entry. When going through security, I've found that hard cases for glasses and umbrellas can often set off the scanners. To make the process smoother, take these items out of your bag and hold them in front of you as you pass through the security line. This will assist the wonderful security team and help you quickly breeze through the checkpoint.

My last and favorite time-saving tip is to use Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering. While waiting in line, I like to open my My Disney Experience app to order food from a participating restaurant. This way, my order is ready for pick-up when I arrive!

Time flies when you're having fun, and I hope all of this helps you spend more time enjoying the magic! Please stop by and visit us anytime. Follow us on Instagram for more advice and tips on how to keep your vacation schedule running like clockwork.

    Enjoy the magic!
