Hi there, Rari! Welcome Home, and welcome to planDisney. It's always a treat to chat with another Member of the coolest club around -
Disney Vacation Club! I'm happy to lend a helping hand as you're considering expanding your DVC Membership (always a great idea).
Having contracts at more than one Home Resort is a great way to increase your accommodation options whenever you're planning your next Disney getaway. All of the DVC resorts have unique aspects that make them a practically perfect vacation choice, so it totally makes sense to have a couple of "Homes" to choose from!
Unfortunately,
Vacation Points from contracts with different Home Resorts cannot be combined at the 11-month mark to make a reservation. You can only use each contract during the
Home Resort Priority Period at the specific location where the contract was purchased for. You can combine the points at the
7-month mark to use at any of the DVC resorts.
Rari, if you're finding that you need more points to vacation the way you want to at your original Home Resort, it might make sense to add on at that location. If you let your DVC Sales Guide know that you're interested in an additional contract (even for resorts not currently advertised for sale), they can let you know if and when one becomes available.
Another option is
banking and borrowing your points to give you a larger amount to work with. You can combine up to three years of points, which could allow you to enjoy a longer vacation or stay in larger accommodations. It's important to be aware of the deadline to bank your points, which depends on your
Use Year. I keep this
banking chart from the Member website bookmarked so it's always handy!
I hope this information is helpful as you're deciding what direction to take with your DVC Membership. Thanks so much for visiting planDisney, and please come see us again anytime if we can help with other questions about your Membership or an upcoming Disney vacation!
Stay Magical!
Susan
