Oh boy! Oh boy! Karen, you are nearly on your way to the Most Magical Place on Earth. It won't be long before you are walking down the middle of Main Street, U.S.A. Hot dog!
The general answer to your question is yes, you can use a MagicBand or
MagicBand+ from a previous trip. My cousin coordinates with her MagicBands with her outfit each day. Goals! But the answer could be "maybe," depending on whether your MagicBand has any battery charge. The previous versions of the MagicBand had a single battery that could last for years. The general range I have heard is two. I have a few that are a bit older and still work, but I have had to retire some. The challenge is that you will only know if yours will work once you try it at
Walt Disney World Resort. I would certainly include it in your packing list and hope for some Pixie Dust.
First, make sure it is still connected to your
MyDisney account. You can check it out on the
My Disney Experience app. On the main menu (the "≡" at the bottom of the screen), there is a link for "MagicBands & Cards" under "My Profile." Under the "MagicBand" tab, you can see all the bands registered to you. The best part is that the app will tell you the date you linked the band, giving you an idea of how old it is. If you do not see your band, select "+ Link" and follow the prompts to add yours.
If your MagicBand does not work at the parks, you have a few options. Have you heard of
Disney MagicMobile? You can add your MyDisney account pass to your mobile wallet and use your cell phone to access your theme park tickets to enter the parks and go through Lightning Lane and Virtual Queue entrances if you have them.
You can also purchase a MagicBand+. There are so many fun versions available. Pick your character, attraction, park or movie and wear it on your wrist. It has sounds and haptics. If you end up getting one, I highly recommend going to the
Haunted Mansion. It's a slight surprise, but it makes me smile. For even more fun, download the
Play Disney Parks app and go on an adventure with "DuckTales World Showcase Adventure." It also has a rechargeable battery.
You can also stop by
Guest Relations and ask for a physical card, if you like. They will just ask for photo identification, the credit card used to purchase the tickets or other forms of proof that the tickets you are using belong to you.
Karen, I hope everything is in spit spot shape for a vacation that is practically perfect in every way. If you have any other questions, we are always happy to see you at
planDisney.
See 'Ya Real Soon!
