Welcome to planDisney, Finlay. What a magical place to begin your Happily Ever After!
Unfortunately, I’m not aware of any service that lets guests put custom projections on
Cinderella Castle during regular park hours. But Hakuna Matata! There are many special ways to propose at Disney World. Here are a few ideas to get you started.
Proposing in front of Cinderella Castle is the most iconic spot at Disney World and one of the easiest to document your once-in-a-lifetime moment! In the area near the Walt and Mickey statue, there are usually
PhotoPass photographers who can take pictures of your spontaneous proposal. For something more personalized, you can book
Capture Your Moment where you’ll get a dedicated 20-minute session with a photographer. And they’re experts at finding the best angles to minimize crowds in the background! Whichever way you go, be sure to purchase
Memory Maker in advance for access to all your pictures at a discounted price.
For an extra bit of sparkle, you might want to propose during the nighttime spectacular,
Happily Ever After! While you can certainly do this from inside
Magic Kingdom, it can be a bit crowded during the show. Alternatively, you might consider booking a special dinner that has a view of the fireworks, like at
California Grill or
Narcoossee’s. My brother-in-law proposed to my sister during a dinner at
Victoria & Albert’s. This restaurant doesn’t have a view of Cinderella Castle, but they were allowed to go outside to watch the fireworks during their meal and that’s where my brother-in-law popped the question! Coming back to the restaurant to celebrate over dessert was the perfect way to finish the night! There’s an email address for Victoria & Albert’s on the
website where you can talk to them about your plan.
Finally, I can’t think of a more magical place to propose than on a
Magic Kingdom Fireworks Cruise! This private chartered boat is an intimate way to watch Happily Ever After from Seven Seas Lagoon, just outside the park.
If you go the fireworks route, here’s a tip from my brother-in-law. He found it helpful to watch videos online of Happily Ever After to pick the perfect time to propose during the show (he ended up choosing to pop the question right before “I See the Light” begins!).
I’m wishing you the most pixie-dusted proposal at the Most Magical Place on Earth! And don’t hesitate to come back to planDisney if you have any other questions.
