How do I book a hotel room at a Disney resort at Walt Disney World since there are not any vacation club room available this weekend

Hi Sheri, welcome home and welcome to planDisney! It sounds like you’re in a hurry to book a Disney Vacation Club villa at Walt Disney World so let’s jump straight to your question!

If you don’t see availability on the DVC website, try calling Member Services. While it’s not guaranteed that they can secure a DVC villa for you, they do their best to accommodate and can recommend whether putting in a waitlist request would work for your situation.

Alternatively, you can exchange your Vacation Points for the Disney Collection Resorts, which includes the non-DVC Resorts at Walt Disney World. Note that there are some guidelines associated with these exchanges, such as a one-time transaction fee and following the Rule of Four (which basically means that bookings within your current Use Year must occur before the last four months of your Use Year). Here’s a link to the point charts (you'll have to scroll down where it reads "Walt Disney World Resort" and select the point chart of the category of Resort hotels you're interested in) for an exchange into a Disney Collection Resort. In order to secure one of these bookings, you’ll have to call Member Services.

My final suggestion would be to save your Vacation Points and look at the special offers page to see if there are any promotions that may apply to a stay this weekend. I know that’s not particularly ideal when we have Vacation Points at our disposal, but we sometimes book a combination of a room at non-DVC Resorts like Disney’s Art of Animation or Pop Century Resort and then transfer over to a DVC Resort when there’s no availability at the DVC Resorts.

Sheri, I hope this information is helpful and I wish you the best of luck in securing a room for this weekend! While you’re there at Walt Disney World, be sure to check out the International Flower & Garden Festival currently underway at EPCOT. We had a great time checking out the topiaries and trying out the new and exciting foods during our spring break trip last month. If you have any additional questions about your DVC membership, please feel free to contact me and my fellow panelists here at planDisney!
