Aloha Cindy, it's great to welcome you back to planDisney!
Looking back on all of the things you've submitted over the years, it's incredible to think it's coming up on a decade of advice that Panelists have provided you with so much that has changed in that time! The Tambu Lounge at
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort has certainly seen its share of updates from fresh paint to its seating configurations (I even remember a time when folks used to be able to squeeze in all the way around the bar itself), and I'm happy to share my experience from my most recent visit:
- At the current time, while reservations are not required to dine or drink at Tambu Lounge, you'll have to wait for a Cast Member to seat you similar to Enchanted Rose next door at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. (Bar seating however was first come, first served and I counted about 15 people who were able to sit around its three available sides.) There's currently signage that reads: "For lounge seating please wait to be seated", but it did appear to be much more easygoing to snag a table in the morning and strictly enforced as it got busier in the evening.
- Most of the table configurations (except for the more compact ones along one side of the windows) would be able to accommodate your party of three; the higher tables had stools for up to 8 guests to gather around closely and the lounge area overall seemed to accommodate under 30 guests in such a small space.
- In the afternoon as folks began to check in for their stays and arrive for their dinner reservations at 'Ohana this space became increasingly crowded - especially as the delicious food items on the menu became available after 4:00 P.M until 10:00 P.M. on the day of our visit. (There were certainly a few families who seemed intent to stay seated at the coveted spots close to the large glass windows to get that perfect view of fireworks, and we noticed as other guests began to take their drinks and snacks to go in order to enjoy them elsewhere.)
As you may already know, policies and offerings are subject to change without prior notice and I hope that you'll be able to easily snag a seat here on your upcoming visit this month! If you're keen on trying to watch the Magic Kingdom Park fireworks from here, be sure to
check the Hours & Events Calendar for the schedule as it alternates between
Happily Ever After at 8:00 P.M. and
Disney's Not-So-Spooky Spectacular at 10:00 P.M. each day of the last week of October 2024.
I hope this helps, Cindy - you're always welcome to come back to us here at planDisney with more of your questions ahead or after your upcoming Disney Adventures!
Aloha!
Prince
