We’re planning a trip on the 31st of October and are planning on going back November 1st. I saw that the Halloween decors end on the 31st so I was wondering if there would be a lot of moving and rides closed for moving decors?

    Greetings and welcome to planDisney!

Thanks so much for coming to us with your question and how wonderful that your visit to the Disneyland Resort is happening so soon! Halloween is my favorite time of year to visit and I hope you have a great time getting immersed in all the spooky fun hijinks!

You're correct that the Halloween Season ends after October 31, 2024. The Disneyland Resort employs a whole host of Cast Members who are dedicated to working behind the scenes. It's truly mind boggling that so much happens after the Parks close to the general public every night (called the Third Shift). I'm constantly amazed when I leave the Parks one evening and I return the next morning to find so many things changed around! The Holiday decorations are just one example of such a change.

To answer your question, Disney Cast Members are experts at what they do, so you won't likely see decorations being put up or torn down during your visit. That mainly happens at night. Some attraction overlays might take multiple nights to remove and will therefore close down during that time. You can take a look at the Daily Schedule for your visit. The "Closed for Refurbishment" section will show you any planned closures for that date so you can plan ahead.

Since you'll be there at the end of Halloween, the perfect attraction overlay might be Haunted Mansion Holiday. Talk about mixing two holidays and watching them collide! It's currently only available via virtual queue, but we're all excited for the eventual grand opening of the Grounds Expansion

I wish you a magical visit to The Happiest Place on Earth and be sure to grab some pictures of the spooky decor! If you have any further questions, please feel free to write to us again. We're always happy to help.

Wishing You a Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow!

Meet the Panelist: Al, California

Ahoy there from the heart of Steinbeck Country in central California! I've been visiting the Disneyland Resort since childhood and fell in love with the sense of absolute immersion that the Imagineers have achieved. My favorite attraction is Pirates of the Caribbean because where else can you go from a California day to an evening boat ride in the bayou with "salty old pirates"? I'm a veterinarian and an all-around Disney geek and enthusiast. I'd love to help you plan your next Disneyland trip! Learn More About Al
