Hi Lisa,
Planning a mother-daughter trip to Disney World sounds magical! I love staying at a Disney World Resort almost as much as I love going to the theme parks. The beautiful theming, delicious dining options and amenities are truly world-class.
If you like the updated convenience of Gran Destino Tower then I think you would also love
Disney's Riviera Resort. We have stayed at this resort multiple times and the convenience combined with the beauty of the theming make it a top choice for me. The pool area is beautiful with a view of the water and poolside gelato cart. There is also a beautiful courtyard featuring several lawn games to play in what feels like a Mediterranean garden. The bathrooms here are beautiful and feature fully updated walk-in showers! This hotel also features one of my favorite restaurants,
Topolino's Terrace, where you can dine on Italian cuisine and watch the fireworks from comfy rooftop seating.
Another great option is
Disney's Wilderness Lodge. This resort is themed for the Pacific Northwest US and is one of the most serene resorts at Disney World. It is a short boat ride away from Magic Kingdom or a bus ride away from the rest of the theme parks. It also features some great dining options like Geyser Point Bar and Grill right on the waterfront and
Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White. I love how quiet this resort is while still being so close to everything. It is also such a fun resort to walk around explore or just chill by the 80 ft. tall fireplace in the main lobby. This resort does have some rooms with walk-in showers but make sure to request it at the time of booking to ensure it will be available since all rooms are not automatically equipped this way.
I recently stayed in a renovated room at
Disney's Yacht Club Resort which also featured a walk-in shower in the room. The great thing about this resort is that you are within walking distance of several restaurants, multiple transportation options, and the theme parks themselves. The rooms feel spacious and the renovated theme is a classy play on a traditional nautical theme. The breakfast buffet at the
Ale and Compass Restaurant was a highlight for me!
If you still find yourself looking for more options after you look at these 3, all of Disney's resorts offer accessible room options that may be available for you to request. Accessible rooms will come fully equipped to handle the showering needs of all. Have fun exploring all of the fabulous options and if you have more questions feel free to come back and
ask me directly! I have stayed at almost all of Disney World's resort hotels and am more than happy to help.
Happy Planning
Jenna
