We are planning a trip in January 2027. There will be 6 adults and a 3 year old. We would love to stay in the Thunder Mountain Suite. Are we able add a roll away for the 3 year old?

Hi there, Michelle! Welcome back to planDisney. A magical vacation with a large group sounds like such a fun family getaway! I can definitely understand why you have your heart set on the Big Thunder Suite. The details in this suite are absolutely fantastic. I may be a little biased considering that is my FAVORITE attraction in the parks. It would be such a fun place to come home to after a day in the parks!

When looking at the Big Thunder Suite, there is one little detail I’d want to keep in mind. The suite has two bedrooms with one King Bed, one Queen Bed, and one Queen-Size Sleeper Sofa, and it sleeps up to 6 adults. Since you’ll have 6 adults plus your 3-year-old, your party would be over the listed occupancy for the suite. While I didn’t see rollaway beds listed under the amenities, it did list crib Pack ’n Plays as available upon request.

With your party size, I’d take a peek at the 2 Bedroom Villa Preferred View at The Villas at Disneyland Hotel. This villa sleeps up to 9 adults, so you’d have a little more breathing room for your whole crew. It also gives you two private bedrooms, a full kitchen, a living area, and a washer and dryer, which can be especially handy when traveling with a little one!

I know this may not be the answer you were hoping for. With the Big Thunder Suite and its incredible theming, I completely understand wanting to make it work! However, having that extra space and staying within the room’s occupancy could make your stay much more comfortable for everyone joining the fun.

Michelle, thank you so much for visiting planDisney. I hope you find the perfect place for your January adventure! If you have any more questions while planning your magical family getaway, planDisney is here for you!
