Welcome to planDisney, Debi! The fall is one of my favorite times to visit the
Disneyland Resort as things begin to settle into the spooky season in both parks. And if your son loves the Haunted Mansion and Jack Skellington, he is in luck!
Jack Skellington and the rest of the ghosts and ghouls from Halloween Town are currently scheduled to return to the
Haunted Mansion beginning on August 22nd and staying through January 7, 2026! This spook-tacular overlay showcases what happens when Halloween takes over Christmas; though, much like Jack’s version of holiday cheer, you might notice a few delightfully eerie surprises. However, that is not the only place where you can see old Sandy Claws. Jack and Sally greet guests in
New Orleans Square, just outside the exit of Pirates of the Caribbean, and they’re always eager to share their unique take on the most frightful…I mean, festive time of year. I’m sure your son would enjoy a chance to chat with this macabre couple. Finally, Jack is the Master of Scare-amonies for the nightly presentation of
Halloween Screams, a fun nighttime fright-tacular filled with villainous visions, haunting tunes, and featuring fireworks on select nights.
As for
“it’s a small world" Holiday, this heartwarming cruise is scheduled to return on November 16th and will continue spreading cheer through January 7, 2026. If your goal is to experience both of these holiday-themed attractions, you may want to visit in November or December to soak up the seasonal magic. Whether you visit during Halloween Time or the Holidays at the Disneyland Resort, each season offers its own enchanting transformation, from eerie elegance to twinkling wonder. After all, as Jack discovered, there’s something positively magical about Christmas lights against a moonlit sky.
One more tip for you, Debi, if you’re looking for even more The Nightmare Before Christmas fun. On select nights in August, September, and October, you may want to attend the
Oogie Boogie Bash. This after-hours event features special Halloween-themed entertainment, immersive treat trails, spellbinding attractions, and so much more. My wife and I have attended for several years, and it has rapidly become our favorite After Hours event at the Disneyland Resort. The atmosphere is dead-icated to Halloween thrills, and I always enjoy encountering our favorite villains lurking in the shadows. Tickets for this event go on sale later this year, so be sure to keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog for more details. You wouldn’t want to end up on Oogie Boogie’s naughty list!

Enjoy your visit,
David
