Can I link all of my friends tickets to my account even after they bought the lightning lane multi pass? If so, can the lightning lane still be used normally?

Hi Andrea! Welcome to planDisney! A trip to the Disneyland Resort is always a delight, but experiencing it with friends adds an extra layer of magic. And with Lightning Lane Multi Pass in hand, you’re all set to make the most of your must-do attractions!

You can link your friends’ tickets to your MyDisney account in the Disneyland app at any point during your visit. If your friends have each purchased Lightning Lane Multi Pass individually, once the tickets are linked, you’ll be able to schedule attraction return times for the entire group. There are a couple of things to keep in mind, though. First, Lightning Lane Multi Pass return times can only be scheduled for guests who have scanned into either Disneyland or Disney California Adventure. While you can link a friend’s ticket before they enter, you won’t be able to book a return time for them until they’ve scanned in. Second, to ensure your group can ride together, make sure no one has already scheduled a Lightning Lane Multi Pass reservation. Once a return time has been booked, guests must wait until either 120 minutes have passed or they have scanned into their attraction, whichever comes first, before making another selection. If someone in your party has already scanned into an attraction, everyone will need to wait until the two-hour mark or until that person has scanned in.

My fellow panelist, Melissa, has an excellent breakdown of how to plan out your Disney day, and I’d love to highlight one key piece of advice: take advantage of the lower wait times early in the day. The first couple of hours after park opening are a golden opportunity to experience popular attractions before the crowds build. Then, as the day unfolds, you can use your Lightning Lane Multi Pass to keep the magic flowing with minimal waits! My family and I always follow this strategy, kicking off our day with a thrilling ride on Space Mountain, there’s nothing quite like that exhilarating launch into the cosmos to jumpstart the fun!

Here’s one more Lightning Lane Q-Tip for you, Andrea! You can potentially hold more than one Lightning Lane reservation at a time. Once you book a reservation, you won’t be able to make another until either your current return time is used or two hours have passed since booking. For example, if you reserve a Matterhorn Bobsleds return time at 9:00 a.m. for 4:00 p.m., you’ll still be able to book another attraction (like Haunted Mansion) at 11:00 a.m. without affecting your Matterhorn time. To keep track, I like to set alarms on my phone or watch as reminders—it’s my secret weapon to ensuring I never miss a chance to experience my favorite attractions!

I hope this information helps you and your friends have an unforgettable day, Andrea. If you have any other questions or need more tips, feel free to visit me or any of the other panelists here at planDisney again!

    Have the most magical time,

    David
