Hi Tara! Welcome back to planDisney! I’m so excited to help you plan your family’s 5th Disney trip. How exciting!
As a fellow mom of three almost-grown boys who loves Disney, I totally get the need to keep each trip feeling fresh. One of our favorite new experiences was the
Wild Africa Trek at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. It’s a 3-hour VIP safari-style tour where you get up close to some amazing animals and enjoy a light lunch overlooking the Harambe Wildlife Reserve. My teen boys were all about it! There are a few sections where you’re in a harness for safety, so if you think your youngest would be comfortable, it could be a great adventure.
Since you’re staying at
Disney’s Contemporary Resort, check out the activities at the marina.
Renting a pontoon boat on Seven Seas Lagoon is a laid-back way to enjoy the views. Kind of like a real-life Jungle Cruise, minus the hippos! You can also hop on a ferry to Fort Wilderness, which has
archery,
pony rides, and the famous
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue if you’re up for dinner and a show.
Closer to “home,” I recommend checking with the front desk at the Contemporary to see if they’re offering any painting or craft classes. My friend
JoAnna recently made a mosaic version of the 5-legged goat from the resort’s Grand Concourse mural, and it was such a fun way to spend a little downtime.
Also, don’t forget that Disney Resort hotel stays in 2025 include water park admission on check-in day. If Typhoon Lagoon is open, we love the
Surf Pool and
Miss Adventure Falls! If you want a more relaxing experience, consider booking a
Beachcomber Shack for a little extra comfort.
I hope these ideas give you a few new adventures to try! Have a fantastic trip, Tara, and if you have any more questions, I’m here to help.
