Welcome back to planDisney, Ida! We’re definitely on the same wavelength because I also love planning out meals in advance for our Disney trips. Not only does it help ensure we get to enjoy our favorite bites, but you never know when you might find a little extra room in the budget to splurge on something fun, like a pair of Mickey Ears!
The details you provided about your trip were super helpful! While prices are always subject to change, I recommend checking in on the Disneyland website and the
Disneyland App closer to your visit for the latest updates. That said, I’ve got some great recommendations for healthy snacks and meals at both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure to help with your planning.
At Disney California Adventure, two fantastic table-service options are
Lamplight Lounge and
Wine Country Trattoria. Lamplight Lounge offers not just delicious food but also a stunning view of Pixar Pier, plus so many fun details from Pixar films. My top pick here is the Tuna Tataki Salad; fresh and flavorful, with juicy orange segments that add just the right amount of sweetness. Over at Wine Country Trattoria, you can’t go wrong with the Spaghetti Aglio Olio. It’s delicious, generously portioned, and reasonably priced. Plus, the restaurant is right along the parade route, which is perfect since Better Together will be running during your visit!
Over in Disneyland,
Carnation Café is one of my all-time favorites, offering a great view of cavalcades as they pass down Main Street. My go-to here? The Turkey Club Sandwich. Just thinking about that Applewood-smoked bacon is making my mouth water! Another great choice is
Plaza Inn, also on Main Street. If you’re stopping by for lunch or dinner, the Salmon is a fantastic lighter option that’s packed with flavor. And if you’re looking for a hearty breakfast, Plaza Inn’s breakfast buffet is a must-try. It’s not only filled with healthy choices but also the only character dining experience inside the park!
For snacks, beyond the classic churros, popcorn, and Mickey ice cream bars, you’ll find fresh fruit, pickles, and other healthy options at
various stands throughout both parks. These are a great value and perfect for a quick energy boost during your Disney day. And don’t forget, you’re welcome to bring your own snacks! Since you’ll be visiting in the summer, keep in mind that many quick-service dining locations offer complimentary cups of ice water. Hydration is key for a magical day in the parks.
Finally, if any of these dining spots sound like a must-do for your family, don’t forget that reservations open 60 days in advance. For your trip, that means May 21st is your big day to snag those bookings! Some of these locations are quite popular, so set that alarm to secure your spots.
I hope this helps, Ida! If you have any other dining questions, or if you just want to talk more about delicious Disneyland eats, come back and visit us at planDisney.
Have a treat for me!
