I am planning to go to Disney World by myself in December and thinking of going to Akershus for the first time ever. How long do I need to make a reservation and is it ok to go to a character dining by myself?

    Hiya Phillip,

Thank you so much for stopping by planDisney again and entrusting us with your dining question! Akershus Royal Banquet Hall is such a wonderful character dining experience that truly feels like stepping right into a fairytale. Dining inside the medieval castle with its beautiful archways and cathedral ceilings always makes me feel like Disney magic is around every corner. And of course, one of the best parts is that the princesses make their way to each table, so definitely have your camera ready for those magical moments!

So Phillip, let’s jump right into your question. You absolutely can attend a character dining experience on your own! Since Akershus is such a popular and coveted dining destination, I highly recommend booking as soon as your reservation window opens, 60 days prior to your visit. If you are staying at a Disney Resort, you can make dining reservations 60 days in advance for up to 10 days of your stay, which is such a wonderful perk for grabbing those hard-to-get reservations. You can easily book right through the My Disney Experience app.

While you are exploring EPCOT, be sure to stop by Kringla Bakeri and grab one of my absolute favorite treats, the School Bread. It is practically a little bite of Norway wrapped in Disney magic and always a must-do for my family when we visit the Norway pavilion!

Phillip, I hope this helps answer your question! If you have any additional questions, please feel free to stop by and visit us again.

    See you real soon,
