My daughter does not have a food allergy but does have IBS. Sometimes she perfers the gluten free options in pancakes/waffles, so not to upset her stomach. could she order that even if we do not list allergies?

    Hey Andrea,

Welcome back to planDisney! I’m glad you’re here with this important question about your upcoming Walt Disney World visit. Disney makes every effort to accommodate guests with special dietary needs. As of this year, guests can actually no longer identify their dietary needs in the My Disney Experience mobile app while booking advance dining reservations. Instead they must speak with a cast member in person upon arrival. This process ensures that dietary needs are captured in real time.

When you arrive, simply notify the host of your party’s dietary needs upon check-in. I would also recommend notifying your server as soon as you meet them just in case. There’s a great deal of information on how to navigate Walt Disney World with special dietary needs available here

Since we’re talking breakfast, Andrea I hope you’ll make time for a character breakfast experience. I love to book at least one character breakfast per visit, whether I bring my kids or enjoy an adults-only visit! Not only are they a great way to get quality time and great photos with some of your favorite characters, but there’s some really great food and it’s typically served as an all-you-care-to-enjoy buffet or family style. One of my favorite breakfast experiences has to be The Crystal Palace inside Magic Kingdom. Guests get to meet Winnie the Pooh and his best friends from the Hundred Acre Wood while enjoying breakfast staples like crispy bacon, eggs, potatoes and my personal favorite - churro Mickey waffles. You really can’t beat it. At buffet dining experiences you will need to ask your server for any available gluten-free options because they will likely need to be specially made and/or brought to you to ensure safety.

Andrea, I hope this information is helpful. Have a splendid visit! If you need additional help planning your Disney World vacation please come back and visit us again here at planDisney. TTFN… ta-ta for now!
