Hi! I am planning our Disneytrip and I want to buy tickets with Genie plus for my family of 4, but my sons (adults) want to have their own disney account where they can get the phone scanned for an attraction,...how am I doing this on 1 account? thanks!

Greetings, Larissa, and welcome to planDisney!

How wonderful that you came to us with your question and how exciting that you'll be traveling overseas to visit the Disneyland Resort! When are you planning on visiting with your family? Southern California enjoys a Mediterranean climate so you'll find pleasant weather almost year-round. You can see from the 2024 Events Calendar that there's so much going on this year!

During your visit, if your sons would like to manage their own Genie+ reservations and book Lightning Lanes for themselves, then it makes sense for them to have their own MyDisney account. Once they've set up their account, you can link the tickets (which are presumably all on your account) to them so they may have access to them. This may be accomplished on the Disneyland website (have one of your sons log in first) under the "My Disneyland" tab. Hover the cursor over it and click on "Link Tickets." On the next screen, he'll be able to enter the ticket ID number from the ticket you've purchased for him. Once linked to his account, he'll have access to the ticket and be able to scan his own phone when redeeming Lightning Lanes.

This can also be done within the Disneyland Mobile App, which you'll need before your visit anyway. I've heard that some international Guests are unable to download it until they arrive in the States, but you'll need it at least by the day of your visit so you can book Lightning Lanes once you enter a Park. It might be convenient to have all tickets linked to the entire party so anyone may use Genie+ on behalf of your group.

Did you hear that Fantasmic! just made its triumphant return on May 24, 2024?! I'm super excited to take my family back and enjoy this nighttime spectacular that evokes such nostalgia from my younger days. I'm so happy that they were able to bring it back!

Larissa, I hope this answer was helpful for you and that you're able to link their tickets without issue. Please feel free to write to us again if you have more planning questions. It would be our pleasure to help you! Until next time!

Wishing You a Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow!

Meet the Panelist: Al, California

Ahoy there from the heart of Steinbeck Country in central California! I've been visiting the Disneyland Resort since childhood and fell in love with the sense of absolute immersion that the Imagineers have achieved. My favorite attraction is Pirates of the Caribbean because where else can you go from a California day to an evening boat ride in the bayou with "salty old pirates"? I'm a veterinarian and an all-around Disney geek and enthusiast. I'd love to help you plan your next Disneyland trip! Learn More About Al
