Ahoy, Spencer, and welcome to planDisney!
Thank you for reaching out with your planning question! With summer slipping away, I think it's a great idea to have next year's vacation plans in place. Once your countdown is underway, you can start to look forward to all the magical memories you'll make aboard Disney Cruise Line in 2027!
Spencer, it's typically easier to take Guests off a reservation than to add them, so I recommend booking your son's stateroom for 4 Guests at this time. A full refund will be given as long as you
make modifications before the final payment. This is 90 days for cruises of 5 nights or less and 120 days for 6 nights or more. Once you make the final payment, you can still change a name or remove a Guest, but a fee will apply depending on how close the sail date is when you make the change. The exception is if you book a guaranteed, restricted rate or a concierge-level stateroom, as those do not offer refunds. If you need to make any changes to your reservation, I suggest
calling Disney Cruise Line. It will give you peace of mind that everything is taken care of before you board.
Once your cruise is booked, all your
staterooms should be linked so you can make shared plans and dine together each night. This will make it easy when your booking window opens for onboard fun,
port adventures,
premium dining, and
spa and fitness appointments. Your
Castaway Club status determines this date, and it will come quickly! I always like to be on at midnight Eastern Time to make my selections.
Best of luck with your planning, Spencer. We are always happy to help, so please let us know if you think of anything else.
