    Hi Angela!

How exciting that you’re planning a big vacation to Walt Disney World and considering The Cabins at Fort Wilderness Resort—such a wonderful choice, especially with the beautiful surroundings and the fact that they’re pet-friendly!

The Cabins at Fort Wilderness Resort is one of the pet-friendly accommodations at Walt Disney World. Typically, there is a pet fee for bringing pets along on your stay. This fee helps cover the additional cleaning and amenities provided for pets, such as special pet-friendly accommodations and areas. Fort Wilderness is a great spot for pets, with plenty of outdoor space for walks and playtime. Make sure to let Disney know in advance that you’ll be bringing your dog so they can assign you to a pet-friendly cabin!

For Emotional Support Animals (ESAs), Disney’s policy typically treats them as pets rather than service animals, which means the pet fee would still apply. Service Animals, defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) as dogs or miniature horses that are trained to perform specific tasks related to a disability, are not subject to the pet fee and are allowed in most areas of the resort. Emotional Support Animals don’t have the same legal status as service animals under the ADA, and therefore, the standard pet policies, including the pet fee, apply.

It’s a good idea to call Disney’s reservations team or the resort directly to confirm the current policy regarding ESAs, as policies can change. They can provide the most up-to-date information and help you understand what to expect. While Disney doesn’t require documentation for service animals, it’s always good to bring any relevant paperwork for your ESA.

    Pet Amenities at Fort Wilderness:

    • Pet Relief Areas: Fort Wilderness offers designated pet relief areas throughout the resort.
    • Dog Park: There’s an on-site dog park where your dog can run and play off-leash.
    • Pet Cleaning Services: Fort Wilderness has pet cleaning services available to keep your cabin fresh and clean during your stay.

Your vacation at Fort Wilderness is sure to be filled with adventure for both you and your furry family member. Whether enjoying the great outdoors or cozying up in your cabin, it’s a perfect retreat for the whole family – including your pup!
