Hi Jan!
I think this sounds like a wonderful plan. For my 40th birthday, we spent several days at the Walt Disney World Resort and then moved to
Disney’s Vero Beach Resort. I like this method as sometimes we are so go-go-go in the theme parks, I need a few days of relaxation afterward. I need a vacation from my vacation, and
Disney’s Vero Beach Resort is the perfect fit!Jan,
Disney Vacation Club Members can use Vacation Points to book
non-villa Disney Resort Collection Hotels. Unfortunately, the only way to check availability for this is to call and speak with a Cast Member at Disney Vacation Club Member Services. It cannot be done online, and you do need an actual Cast Member to help you with that.
Here at
planDisney, we are moms, dads, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and all-around Disney experts from around the United States and the World, here to answer your trip planning questions, and give tips and tricks for vacationing with Disney! While I can sign in to my own Disney Vacation Club Account here in Indiana to check Disney Vacation Club Villa availability, just like you cannot see availability for the Disney Collection on your account, I can’t see it on mine either. I wish I could help you with more information on what is or isn't available, but you'll need to call Member Services.
I hope this helps with your planning, Jan. Sending you pixie dust that you can find the perfect room for your trip.
Wishing you
Membership Magic!- Kate
