I want to plan a trip for fall 2024, when is the best week/month to come? I want light crowds!

Hi there, Angela! Fall is a great time to visit the Walt Disney World Resort! The temperature has cooled down just a bit, and, if you time it right, the crowds can sometimes feel a bit more manageable as well.

Keep in mind that fall is “party season” at the Walt Disney World Resort. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party runs from mid-August through November 1, 2023. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party then runs from November 9 through December 22, 2023. The parties are quite popular and draw many partygoers to Magic Kingdom Park on party nights! However, the crowds at Magic Kingdom Park during the daytime (when parties are hosted that same night) tend to be a little lighter since the park closes at 6:00 PM for day Guests on party nights.

Another time to consider visiting Mickey and Minnie’s Florida home is the week or two after Thanksgiving. Many families take advantage of visiting during Thanksgiving week when many schools tend to be closed. Then, the week or two after Thanksgiving things tend to slow just a bit when everyone has returned to school and work. Then things really pick up again for the Christmas season!

Angela, since you are looking to avoid crowds, I would recommend not visiting during Thanksgiving week or the week from Christmas to New Year’s Eve. The Disney Parks tend to be crowded during those times with Guests enjoying time off from work and school!

I hope you have a great visit this fall! Please be sure to send more questions to planDisney!

    Happy Planning!
