Hello, I plan to reserve a fireworks cruise for my family and was wondering what the best transportation would be to get back to our hotel at Port Orleans Riverside? Or if we wanted to get back into Magic Kingdom, what would be the best way to do that?

    Hiya Alyssa,

Thank you so much for stopping by planDisney with your transportation question! I love that you're thinking about booking a Happily Ever After Fireworks Cruise for your family. My family and I did one a while back, and it is still one of our favorite Disney memories. There is just something so magical about watching Happily Ever After from the water. The music is piped right into the boat, Cinderella Castle shines in the distance, and seeing Tinker Bell fly across the night sky from that perspective gave us all goosebumps. My girls still talk about it to anyone who will listen!

Now, let's sail right into your question. The Happily Ever After Fireworks Cruise typically departs from Disney's Contemporary Resort. Once your cruise returns, you have a couple of great transportation options. If Magic Kingdom is still open, I would absolutely recommend hopping on the Resort Monorail over to the park and enjoying a few more magical moments before heading back to Disney's Port Orleans Resort – Riverside. There is something so special about strolling down Main Street, after the fireworks, when the crowds begin to thin. When you're ready to head back to your resort, you can take the bus from Magic Kingdom to Port Orleans Riverside.

If you'd rather head back a little more directly after your cruise, a Minnie Van, powered by Lyft, is another fantastic option. My family loves Minnie Vans because friendly Disney Cast Members drive them. Traditional rideshare services are also available if you prefer.

A Cast Member will typically call about 24 hours before your cruise to go over the details and will typically ask if you are celebrating anything. If you are celebrating, let them know, and they can add a special celebration banner to the back of the boat, which was so fun!

Alyssa, I hope this helps answer your question. I have a feeling your family is going to make some unforgettable memories on your fireworks cruise. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to stop by and visit us again.

    See ya real soon,
